A Dog's Senses
| Sight |
Since a dog's eyes are located farther apart than ours, dogs can detect movement at greater distances than a human. They can also see better in less light, but have trouble distinguising many colors, and can't see well up close. |
| Sound |
Dogs can hear about four times better than a human. They are expecially good at hearing high pitched sounds that are out of the humans range. Sounds include barks, whimpers, moans, and whines. |
| Smell |
A dog's nose is his greatest sensory organ. Their sense of smell is so great that they can follow a trail that's weeks old, detect odors diluted to 1/1,000,000 the conentration humans would need to notice them, and can even sniff out a person under water. |
| Taste |
Dogs have fewer taste buds than humans do, so they're likely to try anything. Dogs are omnivores which means they eat both plants and animals, same as humans do. |
